A small studio with a long memory.

eLol started in a small office on Shariati Avenue, Tehran, in 1998. The first work was practical and varied: software, websites, print, decoration and teaching. Five people, a lot of improvisation, and a city learning what the internet might become.

The studio grew through the messy early years of the Persian web. We built community sites, shops, internal tools and identities for organisations that were often making things up as they went. We learned to design and build because clients kept asking for both.

We are not the biggest studio in Tehran. We are still here because we keep learning.

Today the work is broader — brand systems, web products, engineering and applied AI — but the studio is still deliberately small. Senior people stay close to the work, and we take on fewer projects so we can do them properly.

A long, uneven line.

Not a straight growth story. More like a series of useful detours, each one teaching us something the next project needed.

1998

A small office on Shariati

eLol begins with design, software and decoration work, five people and a lot of curiosity.

2000s

The early Persian web

Community portals, forums and tools for a web that was still inventing its local language.

2010s

Products, education, infrastructure

The range widens: e-commerce, hosting, training and long-term support for organisations.

2020s

Multilingual and RTL by default

We treat Persian, Arabic and Latin script as one design problem, not an afterthought.

2026

Applied AI, with limits

The AI Lab formalises years of experimentation into audits, prototypes and production systems with human review.

Small by design.

A compact core team, expanded with trusted specialists when a project needs them. You work with the people who do the work.

What we keep coming back to.

01

Design for the real constraint.

The budget, the CMS, the connection speed and the team who has to maintain it are part of the brief.

02

Ship, then improve.

A live thing you can learn from beats a perfect thing in a folder. We plan for the second version.

03

Explain the work.

If we cannot explain why a decision is right, it is probably not right. No mystique, no black boxes.

04

Leave it documented.

Handover is part of the job. Files, decisions and instructions should make sense without a phone call.

Good work is not a personality. It’s a habit.
Studio principle, 2026

Small team. Serious work.

We take on a handful of projects at a time. If you want senior attention and a clean process, let’s talk.
